More Than Just Jewelry

There is a small porcelain dish on my nightstand. 

It was never intended to hold anything extraordinary, yet over the years it has become home to the pieces I reach for every morning. A bracelet that has traveled thousands of miles. Earrings worn to celebrations and quiet dinners alike. A necklace that has become so familiar, I notice its absence more than its presence.

None of them were chosen because they were the newest.
